Intensive English Centre

Welcome to the brand-new Intensive English Centre located within Majella Catholic Primary School!  At Majella, we welcome all students and families from diverse cultures and backgrounds. With the opening of the Intensive English Centre, we can provide quality, targeted English instruction to new arrivals into Australia.

Our centre is open not only to current Majella students but to the children of our newly arrived wider community. The students attending the centre also attend mainstream classes with their peers for subjects such as Sport, Science and HASS as well as for excursions, assemblies, recess and lunch.

At the centre we focus on development of English literacy skills and oral language in the four main areas of English: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.  The children are assessed and reported on using the English as an Additional Language or Dialect programme.
