We have launched a new multilingual section in the Library, significantly enhancing student growth and learning. With nearly 90% of students from Language Backgrounds Other Than English (LBOTE), these resources support educational and personal development by providing access to books in their first languages, helping maintain cultural heritage and improve proficiency in both their first language and English.
Funded by a grant from the Catholic Education Office, the multilingual library includes books in languages such as Punjabi, Hindi, Malayalam, Dinka, Portuguese, Spanish, Swahili, Vietnamese, Arabic, and Turkish. The official launch event highlighted the community’s spirit, featuring older students reading to younger ones in various languages, followed by a celebration with cupcakes and a morning tea for parents and guests.
