Our school community came together to commemorate ANZAC Day, taking time to remember and honour the courage, sacrifice and service of the Australian and New Zealand men and women who have served our country.
Students and staff gathered in our beautiful school gardens for a reverent outdoor service. Through prayers, readings, reflections and moments of silence, students demonstrated great respect as they reflected on the significance of ANZAC Day and the values of courage, mateship and service.
Throughout the day, classes also participated in a range of learning activities designed to deepen students’ understanding of the ANZAC story and its enduring importance. One of the highlights for our Kindergarten to Year 2 students was a special literacy experience in our multicultural library, where they explored the significance of ANZAC Day through age-appropriate stories and discussions. To make the learning even more memorable, our dedicated teacher, Mrs Schwenke, baked delicious ANZAC biscuits for every student to enjoy – a thoughtful gesture that helped bring history to life and was greatly appreciated by our youngest learners.
We are incredibly proud of the respectful manner in which our students participated in the commemorations. Their thoughtful engagement was a fitting tribute to those who have served and a reminder of the importance of remembering the past while inspiring future generations to value peace, courage and community.
