Saint Mary MacKillop Feast Day

We celebrated the Feast Day of Saint Mary MacKillop as a school community with a whole School Liturgy. Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop was a religious sister who became Australia’s first Catholic saint. She co-founded the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart in 1866. Her life was defined by her commitment to providing free education to rural, poor and needy children and establishing welfare shelters across Australia and New Zealand. Saint Mary MacKillop is the saint that our yellow faction is named after.

Majella Cross Country

Last Thursday, the students in Years 3-6 participated in our school Cross Country carnival. Students completed the long-distance running course around the school and the day was a great success. The students have been training hard in their sports lessons each week and this was clear  as all students gave their best effort and completed the race. Based on the results, students will be chosen by Ms Magill to attend the Interschool Cross Country carnival later in the term. Thank you to Ms Magill for your great organisation and preparation for our Majella Cross Country carnival.
